MTV Europe Music Award-winning singer & songwriter Kesha broke her silence concerning the U.S. Capitol riots. As widely known, supporters of Donald Trump stormed the US Capitol in Washington on January 6, after President-elect Joe Biden‘s win in Georgia, and 4 people died in the events that occurred.

Two days after the invade, Kesha, born Kesha Rose Sebert, took to her Instagram and reposted Michelle Obama‘s lengthy statement regarding the issue. Alongside the statement, the ‘Die Young’ hitmaker wrote a message declaring she is sorry for her silence as a caption.

“I am sorry for my silence, I’m in shock. Sometimes words come and sometimes someone else is able to make sense of what’s been racing through your mind from a more informed and gracious perspective.”

Then the 33-year-old referred to Obama’s statement and stated that it truly reflects her own thoughts and feeling regarding the storming of the U.S. Capitol:

“I wanted to share something I read that was better said than I could ever put together.”

As for the first Afro-American first lady of the United States expressed in her message that the supporters of Donald Trump, who invaded the Capitol, desecrated the center of American government and continued:

“Yesterday made it painfully clear that certain Americans are, in fact, allowed to denigrate the flag and symbols of our nation. They’ve just got to look the right way.”

Obama, who also said that she hurt for the country, stated that she is still hopeful for the future even so:

“It will be an uncomfortable, sometimes painful process. But if we enter into it with an honest and unwavering love to our country, then maybe we can finally start to heal.”
