A few days after the funeral for his 8-month-old daughter Azaylia Diamond, Ashley Cain took to his verified Instagram account in order to share the heartbreaking speech he gave.
As fans already know, ‘The Challenge‘ star lost his beloved daughter Azaylia back on April 24 due to a rare form of leukemia. In honor of his little angel, the former football player held a funeral on May 23.
On May 27, Cain released a video of himself while giving a speech; alongside the video, in which his eyes are moist around the edges, he wrote that it was “the toughest speech his life,” and continued as follows:
“The week leading up to Azaylia’s day was comprised of sadness, fear and anxiety. I was sad because my beautiful baby had passed, I was scared because it was our final goodbye and I was anxious because I wanted to make sure I had the strength to stand up and speak about my hero, and how she impacted my life.”
Stating that he wrote the speech at 4 am almost two days before Azaylia’s day, Cain admitted that he was not able to bring himself to read through because of the pain it caused. He went on saying:
“I was so nervous that I wouldn’t have the strength when I came to it, and It made me panic, as it meant everything to me to be able to speak about my little lion that day. But when the day came, I just had some strong belief and some crazy faith, that my baby would get me through it. And like always, she did…”
The 30-year-old former footballer, who declared a few days ago that he and his girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee started a charity in the name of Azaylia Diamond to fight childhood cancer, concluded his words as follows:
“To the top of every mountain, to the bottom of every valley. Along every road, across every ocean. North to south, east to west, corner to corner, pillar to post. I’ll take you there.”
After Cain released the post, his industry friends flooded the comments section with support messages.
