American football quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tom Brady paid tribute to his NFL fellow, Julian Edelman, through his verified Instagram account, on April 12.
As known, the same day, it was officially announced that the three-time Super Bowl champion Edelman retired after 12 seasons with the New England Patriots. A shortly before the announcement, his contract was terminated because of a failed physical.
Once the announcement came, Brady, who spent his first 20 seasons with the New England Patriots, went to his Instagram with a couple of photos of himself with Edelman and added a lengthy caption to celebrate his fellow’s success in the fields. Alongside the photos, Gisele Bündchen‘s hubby wrote:
“I was a witness to so much of the journey and am so proud of you and how you grew from 7th round underdog to an older 7th round underdog. The truth is, you never really grew up! You never lost that chip on your shoulder. You never let anyone define you as a person or player.”
Stating that Edelman has so many teammates who admired his work ethic and success, Brady added that he is at the top of the list because the new retired wide receiver picked him up every turn when he was down and feeling sorry for himself at times. The 43-year-old continued his tribute as follows:
“You were as tough as could be and I love you for all that you did to make our teams as great as they could possibly be.”
Apart from praising the achievements in Edelman’s professional career, Brady also touched on that he is an amazing dad and husband. He concluded:
“I am so happy for you and your family. You had an amazing football journey, an amazing life journey in New England, and I have no doubt you will succeed in anything you choose to do next!”
Following Brady’s abovementioned post, a great number of people both in the sports world and entertainment industry flooded the comments section to acclaimed Edelman.
