Academy Award-nominated artist Dolly Parton issued a heartfelt statement on one of her hardest days.

As fans may know, Parton’s uncle, well-known country music star Bill Owens passed away at the age of 85; his passing was confirmed on Wednesday – on April 7. Once the devastating news spread, of course, Parton took to her verified social media accounts to release a homage for her mentor and uncle

Alongside a TBT photo of herself with Owens, Parton confirmed the news one more time by saying that she has lost her “beloved” uncle and continued as follows:

“I knew my heart would break when he passed, and it did. I’ll start this eulogy by saying I wouldn’t be here if he hadn’t been there. He was there… there in my young years to encourage me to keep playing my guitar, to keep writing my songs, to keep practicing my singing.”

Parton went on her lengthy eulogy for her uncle, who led her when she was a 10-year-old child to get her first radio performance, by remembering the good old days:

⁣”He was there to take me around to all of the local shows, got me my first job on the ‘Cas Walker Show.’ He took me back-&-forth to Nashville through the years, walked up-&-down the streets with me, knocking on doors to get me signed up to labels or publishing companies. ⁣”

The Grammy Award winner concluded her post devoted to Owens whom with she wrote very first single ‘Puppy Love,’ with the following words:

“It’s really hard to say or to know for sure what all you owe somebody for your success. But I can tell you for sure that I owe Uncle Billy an awful lot.⁣”

Here is a part of her message.
