Vanessa Bryant, the wife of the late basketball legend Kobe Bryant opened up her Instagram account to all the users a while ago and sent a sweet message in honor of “uncle” Pau Gasol.
On July 6, Bryant jumped into her verified Instagram account and released a couple of photos and videos showing Gasol has been a strong presence for her and daughters, Natalia, Bianka, and Capri so as to mark his 40th birthday.
In addition to the photos, Gasol is seen spending time with the family after Kobe and Gigi’s tragic death back in January 2020, Bryant also added a video showing the two basketball players on the field. In the video, the legends score points together and congratulate each other by hugging.
Underneath the photos & videos, Bryant wrote the following message:
“Happy birthday, brother! We love you so much. Thanks for always being there for us. Happy birthday, Uncle @paugasol”
As known, Gasol and Bryant, the two Los Angeles Lakers’ legends were marked as “the star duo” of the Los Angeles Lakers, had been close friends for long years, they shared so much both in the court and the all-around life. Back in May, Gasol stated during his interview regarding his long-term friend:
“The way he impacted the world, I think beyond the world of sports… Beyond basketball, how he touched so many people, inspired so many people… Kobe went beyond that and above that.”
Since the passing of Bryant, Gasol has been with the late star’s family; so much so that, the family named him “Uncle Pau.”
