Canadian singer and songwriter Avril Lavigne made her TikTok debut with a video referring to her 2002 hit, ‘Sk8er Boi.’
On June 22, Lavigne released a TikTok video of herself, in which she is seen lip-syncing her song, on the Go Skateboarding Day. In the video, professional skateboarder Tony Hawk accompanied the singer.
As soon as the well-known singer had shared the video, it received millions of views; what’s more, she revealed through her verified Instagram account that she had lessons from the legendary Hawk for the highly funny video in which he is seen wearing a tie while skateboarding.
Meanwhile, Hawk, the owner of the skateboard company Birdhouse, went to his verified Instagram account and released a short video of Lavigne having a go at skating. Alongside the video showing her falling twice, Hawk added a message that reads:
“Breaking news: Sk8er Boi singer learns skating move from old Sk8er Man.”
In return, Lavigne took to the comments section and released the following message:
“Thanks for teaching me to drop in Sk8er Man!”
As fans know, Lavigne dropped the said song which brought her an incredible fortune and fame back on 9 September 2002. Marked as the 5th best pop-punk chorus of the 21st century, the song, sold over 1.8 million copies worldwide.
