TV personality Kim Kardashian celebrated 40 with a luxurious birthday tropical getaway; those moments have been shared through Instagram by Kardashian, accompanying with a lengthy caption. The main theme of the caption was how much she was grateful for turning 40 even though in these painful days.
Alongside the series of photos from a private island party, in which husband Kanye West did not attend, Kardashian added a message that reads:
“40 and feeling so humbled and blessed. There is not a single day that I take for granted, especially during these times when we are all reminded of the things that truly matter.”
Then she stated that she could not think of a better way to spend her birthday than with some of the people who had shaped her into the woman she was today. She continued:
“Before COVID, I don’t think any of us truly appreciated what a simple luxury it was to be able to travel and be together with family and friends in a safe environment.”
Later the Reality TV star used the words which caused she was slammed for the “conspicuous display of wealth:”
“After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time. I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is. #thisis40“
Following the post, Kardashian was criticized for the disgusting display of wealth; a Twitter user wrote that she really did not have sympathy for the poor. The other added that this conspicuous display of wealth was disgusting, especially when so many were suffering.
“If you understood your privilege then you would’ve kept this private instead of posting it for all the less privileged to see” said, the other.
