One of the 100 most influential people in the world, Gabrielle Union-Wade went to her verified Instagram account on April 19 with two posts devoted to her mother Theresa Union in honor of her birthday and revealed some truths after years.
The recipient of numerous acting awards first released a “How it started & How it’s going” photo of herself with her beloved mother and then wrote the following message as a caption:
“That’s My Momma: The Happy Birthday Mom Episode. Love you Mom! And I’m sorry about 1986-1991. Please send my Mom some birthday wishes & take the time to tag your loved ones in the comments & show them”
Then the actor, who received BET Comedy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Box Office Movie for her performance in ‘Deliver Us from Eva,’ posted a black and white TBT photo of her mother and admitted that she could not get her mother until today:
“I didn’t always understand you, but I do now. Your decisions always put your children first. Your work ethic is unmatched. Your love of books is contagious. Family first, you lived that.”
The actor, who has a daughter whom she shared with professional basketball player Dwyane Wade, stated that now she can understand her mother. She concluded:
