The five Grammy Awards-winning Christina Aguilera opened up about black men and women artists that are her forever inspiration, along with a series of photos and a video of herself, through Instagram.
One of the world’s best-selling music artists, Aguilera wrote by putting support behind to ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement:
“As an artist, I’ve been inspired by so many of the greats that came before me. Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, Billie Holiday, the list goes on. The list is in these lyrics, #BackInTheDay… this is where my love and appreciation for music truly began.”
The 39-year-old Christina María Aguilera continued:
“It was an education and an inspiration that I would continue exploring – and eventually translate into an album of dedication I made with @djpremier, called #BackToBasics, paying homage & utmost respect to some of the greatest musicians and artists of all time. The voices that paved the way for mine.
The former coach of ‘The Voice‘ concluded:
“It’s so important I amplify these voices – these strong Black men and women artists are my forever inspiration. #AmplifyBlackVoices”
In return, her followers left the following comments:
“The greatest voices of all time, yes you are in that mix ❤” said, Victor Villegas.
“The recognition that black artists and black music deserve ❤” added, Leticia Duarte.
