Danny Trejo, one of the most-known character actors all around the world, became sociable on July 17, through his verified Instagram account so as to mark a huge milestone.
Trejo, best known for his roles in the huge-budget films including ‘Heat,’ ‘Con Air,’ ‘Bubble Boy,’ and ‘Desperado,’ took his Instagram, released a TBT video shows him with his actor son Gilbert Trejo and celebrated the 7th sobriety of him.
Underneath the video seeing him alongside little Gilbert, the ‘Breaking Bad’ actor wrote:
“My son @gilberttrejo38 has 7 years sober today! Anyone that knows me, knows what it took to get here. There were times I thought I was going to lose him, but today I call him my social security because he makes me proud of his success every single day!”
Trejo, who garnered high praises for his performance in the fan-favorite TV series ‘Sons of Anarchy,’ continued his hearty message with the following words:
“I thank god constantly for his strength! The second slide is a behind-the-scenes of us on a video he just directed me in! This is the gift of sobriety!”
Meanwhile, the son, Gilbert jumped into his verified Instagram account to celebrate the day; after expressing that he can’t believe he has 7 years sober, continued as follows:
“I never thought I would be able to make it through. I never thought I’d be able to do creative shit with my friends, celebrate releases, have… any of it. When you’re fully submerged the way I was, when your entire life is a vicious cycle of getting and using, then needing some more, it’s hard to imagine that there’s any alternative.”
Through his message, Gilbert pointed out that he is living proof and concluded his words by saying that he can proudly say that he is happy being him.
