One of the most-known rappers, 50 Cent, released a never-before-seen TBT photo that shows him as a distinctively tough person.
On May 4, the rapper, who has been marked as “master of the nuanced art of lyrical brevity,” took to his verified Instagram account and proved that living on the South Side of the city makes the natives a little bit tough via the photo that was captured almost 30 years ago.
Alongside the photo, in which the rapper, born Curtis James Jackson III, is seen looking directly to the camera confidently while crossing arms, he wrote the following note as a caption:
“Yo I was 15 in this picture on the South Side you have to grow up faster. I made a lot of mistakes I was already in juvie.”
In his post, the ‘In Da Club’ rapper, who has been becoming a successful film producer, also paid tribute to his late mother, Sabrina Jackson, by saying:
“I remember my Nana coming to see me, she is my angel, she love me unconditionally.”
As fans might remember, the rapper revealed during an interview that he started street life too early; so much so that, according to what he stated, he had involved in selling illegal substances just at 12. Regarding these times, 50 Cent added:
“I was aggressive enough to get by on the street – but then I’d go home and be my grandmother’s baby. I was outside hustling but I still had to talk my grandmother into letting me walk home from school myself. I said to her, look, I’m bigger than you now.”
