Professional basketball player Dwayne Wade can’t help expressing he is a proud father: On March 5, Wade took to his verified Instagram account and released a series of photos of his daughter Zaya Wade who identifies as transgender.
As known, on March 4, Michelle Obama held a virtual meeting with Zaya to discuss the new version of her book ‘Becoming.’ During the meeting, the former first lady said she is just so proud of Wade for “being just an amazing role model and embracing truth.”
Following this meeting, the well-known basketball player, who expresses his love for his daughter is unconditionally at every turn, released the following message:
“PROUD!!! Y’all can not tell me that unconditional love is not beautiful! @zayawade #ICONIC 💫”
Following Wade’s post, Hollywood stars, such as Orlando Bloom, Ellen Pompeo and Taraji P. Henson jumped into the comments section to say that Zaya is perfect.
What’s more, meanwhile, Wade’s wife, well-known actor Gabrielle Union-Wade also took to her verified Instagram account to praise Zaya. Alongside a series of videos and photos which see Gabrielle and Zaya are preparing for the meeting, the actor wrote the following message as a caption:
“Our 🖤 is everlasting. Our support is unwavering. Our fight is ferocious. Our village will always be here, steady and ready to nurture, protect, encourage and uplift. We 🖤 you @zayawade and we are SOOOOOO proud of you!!!!“
In her message, Union-Wade did not skip thanking Michelle Obama; she showed her gratitude for the opportunity she gave to Zaya.
