Grammy Award-winning musician Ne-Yo showed off his love for wifey Cyristal Smith is endless with an Instagram post he had shared to celebrate the 6th anniversary of their marriage.
To mark the day, the musician, born Shaffer Chimere Smith, included an array of pictures of himself with his wife of 6 years and added a heartfelt caption focusing on their relationship going through ups and downs. Underneath the post, in the caption section, he addressed Smith by calling “hey lovely,” and began his romantic message as follows:
“Today marks 6 years of marriage. It has been a bumpy beautiful, tragically terrific ride full of twists n’ turns, up’s n’ down’s…and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Referring to the period their marriage was on the verge of breaking up, Ne-Yo wrote the following words:
“We’ve grown so much. With the understanding that we’ve still got some growing to do of course, I have to acknowledge how far we’ve come. I think once we both realized that marriage isn’t ownership…but partnership, we found our tempo, our melody.”
As fans might remember the musician and her wife declared that they would end their marriage back in February 2020. Fortunately, the couple withdrew their decision afterwards. According to what Ne-Yo stated in his message, following this turbulent period, they become a beautiful harmony.
The ‘Miss Independent’ hitmaker concluded her words with a piece of lyrics devoted to his “other half” and forever partner, as a songwriter does. He wrote:
