One of the most influential figures in alternative culture, Courtney Love goes on slamming Joss Sackler who is a member of the Sackler family accused of perpetuating the opioid abuse.
A few months after refusing to attend Sackler’s fashion show, Love, who previously battled an opioid addiction, took to her verified Instagram account the other day to thank Tom Ford, cfda, and Vogue to have banned Sackler from the NYFW calendar. Through her social media page, Love criticized the fashion designer and her family by expressing that they are responsible for the nation’s opioid crisis through deception.
As widely known, the Sackler family was named in multiple lawsuits over allegations that they fueled addiction and caused more than 300K people have died. Regarding this issue, Love wrote:
“I don’t judge people’s pasts, I’d jump out my own window if I did. But when your husband, your immediate family, is killing millions!“
Calling the Sackler family “shameless,” the Hole’s star, continued her message as follows:
“Rolling out OxyContin in India, China, Spain (with the same playbook as big tobacco) targeting the working classes in those countries. Leaving every state in America fu**ed over by Purdue Pharma. And all you can do is whine about ‘the junkies.'”
Love recommended Joss Sackler to use her millions they made by killing “junkies” to “make amends,” and she wrote that her life is ugly as much as her clothes. The singer concluded:
“Fashion does not want you.”
Following Love’s post, a great number of Instagram users jumped into the comments section to thank her for using her platform to speaking about this.
