Serena Williams Suffers Slight Shoulder Injury But Assures She Will Be Ready For The Australian Open

American professional tennis player and former world number 1 in women’s singles tennis, Serena Williams, uploaded a new post after injuring her right shoulder at an Australian Open tuneup tournament on her Instagram account.

The 39-year-old Grand Slam champion had a match a week before the Grand Slam event, but had to withdrew from the Yarra Valley Classic and is going to take a day-off before the Australian Open.

Like other players who came to Australia, Serena Williams had 14 days of quarantine and had no opportunity to practice before the match. This may be one of the reasons for the injury, and the famous tennis player expressed her dissatisfaction with the situation as follows:

“I’m really disappointed I can’t finish out this #yarravallleywta tournament going to take a day off to get my shoulder ready for the @australianopen Ready 5…. all my love xxx S”

The legendary tennis player, who will take a one-day break and rest her shoulder, plans to get a better start for the Australian Open, which starts on Monday 8th.

Following the post, the first support comment for the famous tennis player came from her close friend Naomi Campbell and she wrote, “I love you Serena, you got this 👑.
