Despite autism controversy, singer & songwriter Sia‘s directorial debut named ‘Music,’ received two Golden Globe nominations.
As known, on February 3, the Golden Globe nominations have been revealed, and Sia’s work, focusing on the friendship between a drug dealer and her autistic half-sister ‘Music,’ earned two noms for Best Picture, Musical or Comedy, and Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy.
Following the nominations had been announced, Hollywood actor Kate Hudson, portraying ‘Kazu Gamble‘ in the said film, took to her verified Instagram account to celebrate the news. Regarding she received her second Golden Globe nom for her role in the film, which caused a huge controversy amid the autism community, Hudson wrote:
“Right now I am beyond grateful and speechless! Thank you @siamusic for your art and vision! Love you so much! Thank you HFPA for the @goldenglobes nominations 🙏”
By pointing out to the photo that sees her hugging Maddie Ziegler and Sia on the last day of the set, Hudson concluded her message as follows:
“This picture was taken on wrap of our film. A labor of love and we put our all into it. Can’t wait for everyone to see it 🌈 🎶🌈 #music”
Following her post, the actor’s industry friends were quick to respond to the exciting news through the comments section:
“Congratulations my talented friend !! 🌟” wrote, well-known Hollywood star Reese Witherspoon.
“Congratulations Kate!! ❣️” added, ‘Friends’ alum Courtney Cox.
“Love you love you so much ❤️” commented, her co-star Ziegler.
Although a great number of Instagram users, including notable names, celebrated the nominations, movie critics censured Hollywood Foreign Press Association for their decision by claiming that ‘Music’ has yet to be released in the United States and yet received enough reviews.
