The world famous Irish fighter Conor McGregor made a statement on his Twitter account after the unexpected defeat in the match with Dustin Poirier, whom the world was eagerly awaiting, and congratulated his opponent’s success.
Conor McGregor, who announced that he left the UFC last year, could not achieve the desired success in the rings he returned after a year, and he got knocked out in the second round.
McGregor, who made assertive statements for his opponent before the highly anticipated match, saying he would knock out his opponent within seconds, couldn’t fulfill his highly assertive words as Poirier collapsed McGregor with his strong right pole.
Deeply disappointed, McGregor’s knockout moment became one of the most shared photos on social media last night, and the Irish fighter had to leave the hall with crutches.
On Sunday, McGregor did not neglect to thank his fans, who supported him on Twitter after his great defeat, and stated that it was a good experience for him, although it was not the best match. In his own words:
“Thanks for the support everyone! Was not my night / morning in there but a great contest to improve on.”
He also added in his words that he is looking forward to the ‘blockbuster trilogy‘ with Dustin Poirier:
“I’m excited at the blockbuster trilogy I now have on my hands. Dustin is a hell of a competitor and I look forward to going again. God bless us all, happy Sunday”
