Hollywood actor Nina Dobrev, best known for portraying ‘ Elena Gilbert’ and ‘Katherine Pierce’ in The CW’s ‘The Vampire Diaries‘ lost her grandmother on December 20; after a day, to deliver the devastating news, she posted through her verified Instagram account a heartfelt homage devoted to granny.
Dobrev returned to her home country Bulgaria to see her beloved grandmother for the last time and shared a series of photos with her, which were taken in granny’s bed, in Sofia. Alongside the photos, the actor wrote:
“Last night a chapter ended. My heart hurts.”
Even though the passing of the grandma shattered her heart, the actor wrote that she is so lucky to have so many beautiful memories with her that “keep flashing through my mind like a movie.”
‘The Final Girls’ star continued by saying that her granny, who she described as a “saint,” taught her so much, and added:
“A nurturer. A protector. A loving mother. A doting grandmother. And now you’re an angel, somewhere that’s undoubtedly better than it is here right now.”
Dobrev stated that she “had the rare ability to say goodbye” and admitted that she and her family were not afforded that luxury:
“That doesn’t make any of this easier, but through the tears, I can appreciate that silver lining. Thank you for hanging on as long as you did, I know it wasn’t easy for you at the end but I’ll cherish those last moments we shared together forever.”
The 31-year-old concluded her tribute by saying she loves her “Babi” and will carry her in her heart for as long as it beats.
“Rest In Peace. Please hug and kiss Dedi for me when you see him. I love you ♥️💔♥️”
As soon as Dobrev had shared the post, her industry friends flooded the comment section and left the following notes as condolence:
