On December 10, the long-time host of ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show‘ announced through her verified Twitter account that she tested positive for coronavirus disease.
The 62-year-old Ellen DeGeneres shared a screenshot from Notes App to deliver the bad news and to say she is okay right now. She wrote:
“Hi Everyone, I want to let you all know that I tested positive for Covid-19. Fortunately, I’m feeling fine right now.”
Through the note, the TV host also warned people, whom she has been in close contact in previous days and wrote that she is following all proper Coronavirus Disease Guidance Documents. DeGeneres added:
“I’ll see you all again after the holidays. Please stay healthy and safe.”
Following the tweet, a great number of Twitter users, including highly famous names, sent their good wishes to DeGeneres. In return, the 62-year-old wrote repeatedly that she is okay, and thanked them.
Hours after DeGeneres’s announcement regarding testing positive, it was confirmed that her daytime program, which premiered on September 21 amid “toxic working environment” allegations will be halted until January 2021.
According to USA Today, the ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’ became one of the first shows in the United States to begin production again in the coronavirus pandemic.
