Miley Cyrus‘ latest release ‘Plastic Hearts,’ with influences from rock, synthpop, and glam rock, debuted at number 1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart. What’s more, seven songs from the said album reached Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs simultaneously.
To celebrate the news, Cyrus took to her verified Instagram account, posted a video, in which the singer is delivered the news regarding hitting number one and she can’t believe it by saying “What, no“, and added a lengthy caption to thank her crew and singers collaborated with. The singer began:
“It’s official. #PlasticHearts is the #1 rock record in the country. My mind is blown and my heart is overwhelmed with gratitude.”
Cyrus first thanked the legendary singers, who she called as her idols, Joan Jett, Billy Idol, and Stevie Nicks for their “blessing, guidance, inspiration, and validation.” She said that her role models inspired her in many aspects by saying that she needs validation from no one but herself.
“The confidence I have in who I am / what I am doing stems from the values instilled by looking up to you as my role models from the beginning.”
Then the 28-year-old star specially thanked Joan Jett for shaping her fashion style and music taste. Then Cyrus praised Fleetwood Mac’s lead singer Stevie Nicks for supporting her by lighting her way with her magic.
“Your words have been coming out of my mouth since I can remember …. but mine flowing from yours is still surreal. Your generosity is unrivaled. I am forever your “smiley baby.”
She continued by revealing that she has been desiring to look like Billy Idol since 2012; she described Idol as “brazen, bold, unapologetic, and authentic” and said that her appreciation for Idol is endless.
‘Plastic Hearts’ hitmaker concluded her words by giving an adorable shout out to Dua Lipa, whom she collaborated for the song ‘Prisoner.’ Referring to the music video for the said song, Cyrus wrote:
“Thank you for allowing me to cover you in cherry juice, lick your face, and for playing at a dirty rock club with me! Your fearlessness is all that could outshine your fabulousness. I love you forever.”
