American R&B singer and songwriter Ann Marie, born Joann Marie Slater, was arrested following she allegedly shooting a man in the head.
According to news obtained by PEOPLE magazine, the 25-year-old singer was booked into jail flanked by armed guards, on 2th of December, and charged with gun possession, the commission of a crime, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
CBS 46 reported that on December 1, police arrived at a hotel in Buckhead after getting a call regarding the crime, and they found a 24-year-old man, suffering from a gunshot to the head. The man, who was still responsive, was hospitalized at Grady Memorial Hospital. It was stated by the hospital that the young man is in critical condition.
Then the ‘Throw it Back‘ hitmaker, who had been with her two childhood friends in the hotel room where the incident happened, was arrested and she claimed the followings in the first investigation:
“A gun fell off a table in the hotel room which caused the gun to go off hitting the man.”
According to the police records obtained by CBS 46, the singer asked multiple times whether the victim is alive or not.
In case she is found guilty, she will face years of the sentence.
