Well-known singer and actor Keke Palmer gave a piece of bad news: The star declared that she was trying to deal with polycystic ovary syndrome which affects women’s ovaries and is caused by hormonal imbalances, for long years.
For the first time, Palmer opened up about this issue; she posted a series of photos of herself without make-up and showed her fans and followers how the syndrome has affected her skin. Stating that she tried everything to fix her severe acne problem, even using acne pills, however, she could not get a permanent solution.
Keke, who shared her journey with followers to inspire them, also said that her entire life flew away while looking for a solution both for PCOS and acne. Even so, she found that all of these comes from her family’s history of diabetes and obesity.
Keke stated that medical professionals are not enough to help people on certain occasions and told of her negative experience regarding the issue:
“And unfortunately doctors are people and if you don’t ‘look the part’ they may not think that’s your problem. They may not even suggest it if you ‘look healthy’ whatever that means! I came to a doctor in tears once and all they offered was a measles vaccine… Exactly.”
The star continued by clarifying why she was sharing this kind of personal post; she just wanted people who are struggling with the same health problems to know that it is okay and they can help themselves even though doctors can not do it. At this point, stating that her problematic skin made her sad many long nights, however, she did not give up on herself by going on researching despite no medical degree.
Then Keke clarified the post further:
“This especially makes me sad because my family struggled for years and no doctor could help them, they actually mislead them and just took their money. It’s only because of what my family sacrificed that allows me to even have the resources to share the information I’m sharing with you! Their fight out of poverty gave me a better life and I just want to share what I learn 🙏🏾”
At the end of her message, Keke encouraged her fans and followers not to give up on the war against PCOS and severe acne which is the most harmful thing the syndrome brings, and remind them that they are not alone. She concluded her message as follows:
“MY ACNE AINT NEVER STOPPED ME. But we don’t have accept this. Now I can really help KEKE! And I love her so it’s ON. Pray for me on this journey and I will pray for you too. I’m not afraid to show myself to the world and you shouldn’t be either ❤️”
Following this highly sincere post, notable names in the celebs world, including Lili Reinhart, Taraji P. Henson, and Gabrielle Union-Wade, flooded the comment section to show their support for Palmer. They said in joint the post is so powerful that could help many people all around the world.
