TV host and actor Keke Palmer took to Instagram in order to declare that eating healthy foods costs money. Palmer posted a tweet she had shared before, that reads: “Imagine if your EBT card could only work on healthy items” and added a lengthy caption to express her displeasure regarding the pricing.
The ‘Scream Queens‘ star wrote that she has been eating healthy for a while, and she has been sad about her debit card balance due to it. Palmer added that carrying out a healthy diet is expensive is not fair, and continued:
“Healthy food is more expensive for a reason. It’s fresh, good for you, and gives you energy. Bad foods are bad for a reason. They last long they taste good because of tons of sodium and they aren’t expensive because they’re honestly not food. Most likely they are food-LIKE products.”
After comparing the bad – good foods, asked her followers to comment that if they could imagine the healthy foods could swipe for free.
“Pretty much a reward for being healthy but even more so giving homes a break that wants to eat healthily but can’t afford it!“
Following the post, the TV personality could not receive the comments she expected. Instagram users reacted to Palmer, who recently spoke out about the tax policies and supported Joe Biden’s tax plan, by saying that she is a rich person, so, she does not have an opinion about affording foods.
“Have you ever used EBT in your life?” an Instagram user asked her.
“Imagine being rich during a pandemic and worried about how poor people shop to feed their families…” another one commented.
