The well-known social media influencer and rapper Braxton Baker died; she was just 21.
The devastating news regarding her passing first announced by Essence, and confirmed by her mother, Letricia Loftin Russell, through Instagram. Russel shared a video tribute for her beloved daughter and wrote that their “angel” has ascended. The grieved mother stated that her internal and external being was totally pure, and there were no scratches and bruises.
Russel described her passing as a “spiritual release” and stated:
“God retrieved the angel He loaned us.”
She continued by telling that Baker, who grabbed wide attention after releasing a music project titled ‘VERSE(atility),’ was working on two albums and three novels. According to her mom, shortly before her passing, she was preparing for launching her fashion brand; “the work of Black queer revolutionary woman.” Then the Russell went on:
“She knew that her brilliance and art would be shared with the world in God’s timing. This is just the beginning, our whole beings are dedicated to sharing her sacred art with the world.”
Once the news spread, ‘Lil B**ch’ rapper’s fans and followers started to share their condolences online. Famous make-up artist Scott Osbourne was quick to pay tribute to late the late star. On Instagram, Scott wrote that Baker was such an amazing light.
The specifics of the rapper’s death are still unclear.
