Chrissy Teigen, who had announced that she and husband John Legend had lost their baby named Jack, penned a letter over Medium to open up about her pregnancy loss, and criticism she received after posting a series of photos regarding the stillbirth.
Teigen expressed that she was finally ready to talk about what happened; even though still really feeling the pain. Then she began:
“I would have an epidural and be induced to deliver our 20 weeks old, a boy that would have never survived in my belly. (…) My bleeding was getting heavier and heavier. The fluid around Jack had become very low — he was barely able to float around.”
Then the doctors said her and her husband that was the time to say goodbye to the baby after a couple of nights at the hospital. Continued as follows:
“I cried a little at first, then went into full-blown convulsions of snot and tears, my breath not able to catch up with my own incredibly deep sadness. Even as I write this now, I can feel the pain all over again.”
The TV host, who was criticized for sharing the most personal things with millions of followers, later wrote that she did not care about the slating concerning the emotional photos she posted just after the doctor had given the bad news.
“I cannot express how little I care that you hate the photos. How little I care that it’s something you wouldn’t have done. I lived it, I chose to do it, and more than anything, these photos aren’t for anyone but the people who have lived this or are curious enough to wonder what something like this is like.”
Then Teigen said that the aforementioned photos were only for the people who needed them; because of that, the thoughts of others did not matter to her.
The mother of two, in the conclusion part, explained why she penned this open-letter. Teigen stated that she needed to say something before she could move from this and return back to life. She also thanked her supporters by saying:
“Jack will always be loved, explained to our kids as existing in the wind and trees and the butterflies they see. Thank you so much to every single person who has had us in their thoughts or gone as far as to send us your love and stories. We are so incredibly lucky.
