The body positivity movement continues to gain supporters day by day.
As one of the supporters, the former World Cup alpine ski racer Lindsey Vonn took to Instagram in order to react to mean comments on social media regarding her body.
Vonn posted a series of photos that shows her body’s “defects” and reminded those who left inappropriate comments that she was just an imperfect human as all the people were.
The former member of the United States Ski Team, alongside the photos, wrote a lengthy caption that reads:
“I’ve posted quite a few swimsuit pics lately, which is scarier than it seems. Even as an athlete there are ruthless comments and media stories that tear apart my body and I admit it sometimes hurts me.”
Then Vonn said that she was a normal person and sometimes she slouched, her stomach folded over, and her cellulite showed on her butt or she did not fill out her swimsuit. Added:
“But, I always remember how my body has helped me achieve amazing things in my life and I am proud of how strong I am. I’m not a size zero and that’s perfectly fine with me.”
The recipient of the Laureus Sportswoman of the Year award stated she was proud to officially never had any plastic surgery; she also never photoshopped her photos.
“No Botox, no fillers, no mini surgeries. Literally nothing. I am 100% natural and 100% Lindsey. So to anyone who is feeling self-conscious or down about their appearance; stay strong, stay healthy, and love yourself no matter what the haters say.”
After highlighting how natural she was, the sportswoman of 2010, concluded her words by thanking her supporters:
“Special thanks to all of you who have been positive and supportive… let’s keep up the culture of body positivity going! ❤️🙏🏻💪🏻”
