TV Personality Kim Kardashian, who frequently uses her social platforms, showed her support for the non-profit organization “Stop Hate for Profit” and declared that she would freeze her Instagram and Facebook accounts for 1 day to stop spreading hate through social media.
Kardashian posted an image that read “Stop Hate” and added as a caption:
“I love that I can connect directly with you through Instagram and Facebook, but I can’t sit by and stay silent while these platforms continue to allow the spreading of hate, propaganda, and misinformation – created by groups to sow division and split America apart – only to take steps after people are killed.”
The “Stop Hate for Profit” campaign has been organized after Facebook refused to censor certain contents that contain controversial, harmful, and hateful speech and statement. One of the supporters of this movement, Kardashian continued:
“Misinformation shared on social media has a serious impact on our elections and undermines our democracy. Please join me tomorrow when I will be “freezing” my Instagram and FB account to tell Facebook to #StopHateForProfit. Link in bio for more info on how to preserve truth.”
Following the post, a good number of Instagram users jumped into the comment section to expressed their opinions on Kardashian’s act:
“I hope you’re referring to your celebrity acquaintances who’ve used their platforms to divide this country from their Hollywood hills bubble!” said, Renee Floriophl.
“I hope to stop the spread of misinformation goes both ways, sadly we’ve only seen the right targeted. Hope to see this change soon!” added, Jesica Morann.
