The former member of the girl group ‘Fifth Harmony,’ Camila Cabello made a meaningful statement on the National Suicide Prevention Week, and reminded people who suffer from mental health issues that they are not alone.

Cabello, who is familiar with using her platforms to post about social issues, uploaded a series of slides, prepared by the National Alliance on Mental Illness to prevent suicide, and added a caption that read:

Every 40 seconds a family loses someone to suicide. This heartbreaking fact reminds us today, during National Suicide Prevention Week, that we don’t know what someone else is going through.”

Then the singer said that she has been open about her struggles with mental health, OCD, and anxiety, also added that the bravest thing she ever did was asking for help. She continued:

“Being human is hard. We were never meant to do it alone. Check on your friends today and ask them how their hearts are. If you’re struggling with your mental health and are reading this now, please take it as a sign to ask for help.”

Later the 23-year-old singer stated that feeling not okay is okay, and knowing that you are not alone is the most important:

You are needed in this world. There are people that want to see you healed and feeling better and can help you through it. You are not alone.”
