Television personality and zoo operator Bindi Irwin paid tribute to her father, Steve Irwin on the 14th anniversary of his death. The ‘Crikey! It’s the Irwins’ star, took to Twitter and posted a childhood photo of herself alongside her late father, and honored him with a heartfelt message. She wrote in short:

You’re always in my heart.”

As remember, the late father, Steve Irwin, also known as “The Crocodile Hunter,” died of stingray injury to the heart while filming in Australia’s ‘Great Barrier Reef.’ The wildlife expert was attacked by a short-tail stingray with an approximate span of two meters, according to the incident’s only witness. His tragic death was announced on 4 September 2006.

Bindi Irwin, who recently announced that she was expecting her first child, remembered her father one more time during her wedding ceremony, in 2016:

“Where we got married was such a special place to dad. It’s a beautiful little area where he had filmed for many years. It felt really wonderful and just meant to be.”

Following Bindi’s post, Irwin’s wife, naturalist, and author, Terri Irwin also shared a tribute through Twitter. She uploaded a photo of herself with her late husband sharing a kiss, and added the following message:

“This is a particularly poignant moment in time for me. Today marks 14 years since I lost Steve, after 14 wonderful years of marriage. I feel that I have a choice: celebrate love or struggle with grief. I choose love.”
