The well-known singer Katy Perry, who recently gave birth to a daughter with Orlando Bloom, spoke to the current affairs program, 60 Minutes Australia, and opened up about her previous marriage to Russell Brand. As known, Perry and Brand married in 2010, and divorced in 2011, after 14 months.
The 35-year-old singer, recalled about their marriage, and her ex-husband Russell Brand, and said during the interview:
“It was the first kind of breaking of my idealistic mind. I was having great success at 23, 24 and 25 and then I met someone that was interesting and stimulating. It was just like a tornado, it was everything happening at once.”
The ‘Smile’ star, who stated during an interview with Vogue magazine in 2013, that Brand had asked for a divorce via text message on New Year’s Eve, added:
“But I’ve always really resonated with friction and resistance and challenges.”
The singer also said that she worked really hard not to break down their marriage, and continued:
“I know that inherently. Like, ‘OK, it’s gonna take a lot of work but oh, we’re gonna get somewhere great,’ or, ‘It’s gonna be a beautiful diamond. All this pressure is going to turn into.”
Perry also talked about her current relationship with Orlando Bloom, whom with she shared a baby, and described it as follows:
“It is healthy frictional, very open, very communicative, nothing is swept under the mat type of relationship.”
