Selena Gomez and the K-pop girl group, BLACKPINK released the highly anticipated collaboration, single ‘Ice Cream’ on August 28, as announced before. A music video also accompanied the song.
‘Ice Cream,’ the second single from the quartet’s debut album, arrived following the other BLACKPINK’s single, ‘How You Like That’ which was nominated for Song of Summer at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards.
To announce the new release, the Billboard Music Awards winner Selena Gomez posted a photo on Instagram of herself in a sailor-style costume, holding an ice cream, sharing in the caption that:
“#SELPINK is officially in your area. The song and video for Ice Cream are out now! 🍦 @blackpinkofficial”
The song was written by a series of songwriters that includes Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Victoria Monét, Teddy, Tommy Brown, Steven Franks, Bekah BOOM, and 24. A part of the lyrics are as follows:
“I know that my heart could be so cold / But I’m sweet for you to come put me in a cone / You’re the only touch, yeah, they get me melting / He’s my favorite flavor / Always gonna pick him.”
A short after releasing the song, it was reported that BLACKPINK broke its own record with Selena Gomez single.
