Rumer Willis Marks 4 Years Of Sobriety: “So Grateful For Choosing Myself”

Singer & actor Rumer Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore took to Instagram on New Year’s Eve to announce that she has been sober for four years.

The ‘Chicago‘ actor posted a series of photos of herself, in one of which she is showing four fingers, and captioned it with an inspiring message. The 32-year-old fist wrote to celebrate the milestone:

4 Years Sober Today!!! So grateful for choosing myself above any need to distract or numb out.”

Then the star expressed that especially in 2020 she needed to try her best to cope with the problems regarding her addiction due that the last year brought up so many negatives both for her and the world.

” I feel immense gratitude that even when I have no escape from the feelings that come up no matter hard or painful they may be, I try my best to live through them and come out the other side.”

Admitting that 2020 was highly challenging, Willis stated that she chose herself at each time:

“This year has brought up so many challenges but I know that because I choose to rise to the challenge each and every time I am loving myself and showing myself that I am capable of getting through anything.”

The actor, who recently appeared in ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood‘ as ‘Joanna Pettet’ concluded her words by encouraging people who fight against drinking addiction :

“For anyone and everyone who is struggling or has a desire to get sober know that it is not a one size fits all process but it’s one day at a time. I don’t have all the answers, I know what has worked for me but always here to lend support or just listen.”

In December 2020, apart from Willis, also legendary Hollywood actor Anthony Hopkins, and TV personality and former model Chrissy Teigen celebrated their sobriety.
