The leading figure in the music industry, Rihanna posted a poster of the organization, Six Nineteen that rustles up actions for the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement across the nation; and encouraged her followers to take action to honor Juneteenth.
‘Only Girl (In the World)’ singer captioned the post as follows intending to point out the importance of Freedom Day & Juneteenth:
“Juneteenth (June 19th) is a day that honors Black freedom and Black resistance, and centers Black people’s unique contribution to the struggle for justice in the U.S. This Juneteenth is a rare moment for our communities to proclaim in one voice that Black Lives Matter.”
One of the world’s best-selling music artists with more than 250 million records worldwide, 32-year-old singer and songwriter urged others to celebrate Juneteenth:
“Join us on the #SixNineteen mobilization on Juneteenth weekend, June 19–21, 2020. Take action in front of the White House, in your community, or at home.”
In return, her loyal followers expressed their support via comments:
