The former professional football player and ‘LIVE! with Kelly and Michael’ co-host, Michael Strahan reportedly couldn’t raise his voice as a black man on ‘LIVE!’ with N.J.’s Kelly Ripa because of the fear of being perceived as threatening.
Michael Strahan participated in a town hall for ABC and Disney employees, and according to reports of The New York Post’s Page Six, Strahan made an admission about his time on the show.
The source said:
“Michael said that there were some very tense situations with executives who got argumentative and loud on the show, and he was very aware he couldn’t speak up or raise his voice as he was worried he would be seen as threatening.”
The statements that follow the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement and the death of George Floyd reminded the previous statement that Michael Strahan made about her partner, Ripa:
“One thing I tried to do is have a meeting every few weeks with her. We met a few times, and that was fine. But then eventually she said she didn’t need to meet. Can’t force somebody to do something they don’t want to do.”
