The 13 times Grammy Award winner Pharrell Williams has released the new song, ‘Entrepreneur,’ featuring Jay-Z on August 21, that is is about racial inequality in the United States.
The 47-year-old Williams took to social media to spread the news regarding his new music release, which is a part of his new cover package called “The New American Revolution.” Williams posted a part from the official music video and captioned it on Instagram as follows:
“ENTREPRENEUR out now on all platforms. Thank you to Jay, and to every Black queen, king, and entrepreneur who made this all happen! This is for you…and your Black vision of the future.”
He also thanked the director of the music video, which in Black entrepreneurs, creatives and business owners around the world appear:
“And a special thank you to the director @Calmatic for creating such a beautiful video.”
Alongside the song, “The New American Revolution” package includes interviews with people, contributed to the “Black culture & ambition” such as Angela Davis, Tyler the Creator and Naomi Osaka.
Also, the two-time Academy Award nominee spoke about the song, which focuses on the racial inequalities, to TIME and said:
“The intention of a song was all about how tough it is to be an entrepreneur in our country, to begin with. (…) The song is trying to communicate that when we stick together, treat each other better, and welcome each other, there’s more money and more opportunity for everyone.”
