Paulina Porizkova Reveals That She Has Been “Vaguely Ashamed Of Her Legs” Throughout Her Modelling Career

After making a huge wave by releasing the intimate cover of German Vogue she featured on, Paulina Porizkova took to her verified Instagram account one more time, on April 14.

The well-known model released other shots captured for Vogue’s latest issue and opened up about the insecurities about her appearance. Porizkova, previously stating that she has to face mean comments on her appearance throughout the years, wrote that she “has been vaguely ashamed of her legs” for her whole modeling life.

In order to come out up about the issue, she first released a photo collage, including two different shots of herself in just panties, and then wrote:

“Of course, it was always pointed out to me that my legs were not perfect. Cherub knees (if you concentrate on just the knee cap, you can see a cherub face) instead of the socially required bony ones, the thighs a little wider than hips, (looks terrible in shorts!) and the length not particularly advantageous if compared to length of my torso. Don’t send Paulina in for the pantyhose commercial.”

Stating that this is what happens to models all the time, Porizkova touched on the comparisons she had to experience during her modeling life.

“Every particle of you is dissected and held up for inspection and compared with others. Of course you start doing it yourself. Your job depends on it. And of course you’ll always come up short.”

According to the former model stated in her caption, fortunately, she accepted her legs at the age of 56. Even though she could not say she likes them, Porizkova now accepted them as hers and “be happy with the way they work.” In his message, the 56-year-old star thanked Vogue staff for helping her to realize that her legs are okay. She concluded as follows:

“And then I see a photo of myself like these from @marietomanova in the issue of @vogueczechoslovakia, and think, damn. What the hell am I thinking? There is nothing wrong with my legs. TW The painting behind me is an oil done by @wendyrifkin , an amazing portrait artist. As you can see, back then I hid my least favorite part. No more. 56 rocks!
