Czechoslovakia-born supermodel Paulina Porizkova marked her own 56th birthday with a touching post, through Instagram.
On April 9, the current author, who frequently goes to her social media accounts to share her “healing journey” after the passing of her beloved husband Ric Ocasek, went to her verified Instagram account and released a black and white photo with her boys, Jonathan Raven Ocasek and Oliver Orion Ocasek.
Not familiar with sharing posts with her two sons, Porizkova added a lengthy message alongside the photo that shows her boys are totally lookalike their fathers. The former model wrote that the last year was the worst year of her life because she lost and had to let go of everything she had been building her whole life. She continued by mentioning an unfortunate moment:
“The low point was flying seven hours to a paradise destination with my boys to recoup my sanity, and getting sent right back because I forgot to check the expiration of my passport. I, someone proud of never crying, was sitting in the San Jose airport crying so hard they had to put me in a wheelchair to roll me back on the plane. With a blanket over my head.”
After opening up about the hardships she had to face at her 55, Porizkova stated that she was turning 56 on April 9, and heralded that she is finally “starting to get a hang of who” she is. In her own words:
“I’m finally getting more comfortable in my admittedly looser skin. My life is taking on a new shape. It’s not one I wanted, but I guess I’m getting just what I needed. “
Then the model encouraged her fans and followers to remind themselves how strong they are and to expand their world of empathy and understanding. She concluded her word by addressing the photo and the bond between her and her boys:
“The love of my friends, of my family, of my boys who unhesitatingly escorted me where I needed to go, and only said mom, whatever you need.”
