Olivia Rodrigo Says She Creates Her Very First Album ‘Sour’ By Turning All Her Unhappy Feelings Into One Of The Best Moments Of Her Life

Disney alum Olivia Rodrigo announced through her verified social media accounts that her very first studio album, titled ‘Sour‘ is out now!

On May 21, the young star, who released her debut single ‘Drivers Licence‘ back in January 2021, took to her verified Instagram account and shared a couple of shots with those who supported her on this journey. Alongside the photos full of love and gratitude, the 18-year-old singer & actor revealed that the album is actually a reflection of her heart and life.

Stating that every song in the album, launched through Geffen Records on May 21, is so personal and close to her heart, Rodrigo continued her message by crediting her team with these kind words:

“Thank u to everyone who made this album happen. thank you to my manager, Kristen Smith, for believing in me and supporting me with absolutely everything in her. Thank you to Christiana Divona, Marissa Ramirez, Kirsten Stubbs, and Michelle An for bringing Sourto life visually and being the most caring ppl in the world. thank you to Matt Morris, Emerson Redd, John Janick, and Sam Ribak.”

After thanking songwriter Casey Smith, producer Alexander 23 and artist Dan Nigro for changing her as an artist and a person, the ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ star expressed her satisfaction with working with her team. 

At the end of the caption, Rodrigo revealed that this album is a collection of her feelings she experienced throughout the years. Calling herself lucky to songwriting and music exist, the 18-year-old concluded:

“I hope you guys enjoy the 34 minutes and 46 seconds of me spilling my guts out that is called sour. Thank you for helping me turn all my unhappy feelings into one of the best moments of my life .” 

The album, which means so much to Rodrigo, is featuring well-known names including Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff.
