Michelle Obama Celebrates Malala Yousafzai’s 23rd Birthday And Praises Her Accomplishments

American lawyer and author Michelle Obama, who is the first African-American First Lady of the United States, uploaded a photo of Malala Yousafzai on Instagram and wished her a happy birthday along with a highly impressive note.

As is known to all, Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai’s works on female education and human rights have grown into an international movement, and that made her the youngest Nobel Prize laureate.

Just like every year, Michelle Obama, who advocated girls’ right to education, celebrated Malala both for her birthday and achievements, through the following words:

“Wishing a wonderful birthday to @Malala! I first met Malala a few years ago, and right away, it was clear that she possessed character far beyond her years. Her incredible resilience is borne out of a genuine love of learning, and I am so proud of her for recently graduating from university.”

Obama mentioned ‘Girls Opportunity Alliance’ and urged her followers to take action to provide a proper education for more than 98 million adolescent girls around the world:

“Because make no mistake: There are young women like Malala in every corner of the globe, determined to get an education worthy of their promise. They are the inspiration for my work with the @GirlsOpportunityAlliance.”

Serving as a role model for women, Obama added:

“So as we celebrate #MalalaDay, let’s not simply be in awe of her accomplishments. Let’s join her and do our part to help unlock the extraordinary talents and potential of girls around the world.”
