TV personality and model Meagan Good, appearing in a good number of television shows, films, and music videos, speak out against the wrong law enforcement system in the United States and demanded police reform. Good posted an image which the following statement reads, on Instagram:
“TELLING BLACK MEN TO RESPECT COPS SO THEY DON’T GET KILLED IS LIKE TELLING WOMEN TO DRESS APPROPRIATELY SO THEY DON’T GET RAPED”
Alongside the image, that catches attention to police brutality and violence against the people of color, released the message:
“The system isn’t broken. It’s working exactly how it was created from its genesis… It’s TIME FOR A NEW ONE .”
Then the actress stated that she was not trying to encourage people to flat out disrespect law enforcement, she just defended the idea: All human beings are equal. Good continued:
There is no superiority because of a job title or race in God’s eyes… And respect should be equal to all human beings… And if it’s not- it should not result in a death sentence by someone in a position of abusing man’s power, who decides to be the judge & jury of human life in an instant because of a bruised ego.”
A little after this post, the 39-year-old addressed those who claimed that supporting Black lives was an exaggerated issue, and wrote through Instagram:
“Stop making excuses. No one’s overreacting. This is real. If you don’t see it -it’s because you don’t want to.”
