American rapper, songwriter and minister Mase, who retired from music to pursue “a calling from God” in 1999, posted a message directly to Kanye West and stated that West owed him an apology.
As might be remembered, West previously criticized Mase for stepping away from the rap, so much so that, in ‘Devil In a New Dress’ record he rapped by targetting Mase:
“Don’t leave while you’re hot, that’s how Mase screwed up.”
Maze wrote by addressing Kanye’s criticism of the music industry, through his verified Instagram account:
“#kanyewest much of what you are feeling has been expressed before. But when I was saying it, the same system and mindset that you are fighting against today, used you to shame me for leaving the very same system!”
As might be known, in previous days, Kanye described the music industry as a “modern-day slave ship” and slammed royalty-based record deals.
Mase continued:
“I know today you may see it very differently so… You owe me (and my family) a public #apology and then some if anyone owes you one. For alluding to the fact that me following God at the height of my career was a bad decision.”
This apology request came after Kenya’s since-deleted tweet stating Drake and J. Cole owed him an apology.
