Machine Gun Kelly, who has been under the media spotlight since he started dating well-known actor Megan Fox, received an iHeartRADIO Award for Alternative Rock Album of the Year with his latest album ‘Tickets To My Downfall!’

A day after the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards, MGK, who marked a turning point in his music career by changing his genre to alternative rock from hip& hop/rap, jumped into his social media accounts in order to celebrate his victory. On May 28, the former rapper, current rock star took to his verified Instagram account and released a couple of photos from the big night.

At this year’s event, rather than MGK’s award, his and his girlfriend Megan Fox’s matching Barbie Pink outfits caught attention. Alongside the photos showing their outfits, the singer added a short note to mark the milestone. By referring to the pink butterfly on his white suit, Machine Gun Kelly added a note that reads:

“I took the butterfly out of a flower pot and the pink stitching is literally my shoelace. The award is for best alternative rock album. This is so sick.”

As known, during the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards, hosted by well-known rapper Usher at The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, the biggest names in the music industry, including Foo Fighters, Twenty One Pilots and Billie Eilish, received nominations & awards, along with Machine Gun Kelly.

That night, the Alternative Rock Artist of the Year award was presented to Twenty One Pilots while Powfu took home the honor of Best New Rock/Alternative Rock Artist. What’s more, legendary musician Elton John received the iHeartRadio Icon Award.
