English singer and songwriter Lily Allen went to her verified Instagram account to deliver a piece of good news.

Grammy Award-nominated singer marked a milestone through an Instagram post and revealed that she has been clean and sober for a year and a half. To release the news, she posted a series of photos of herself, in one of which she is seen while showing off her recovery key chain with “Clean & serene for eighteen months.” Alongside the photos, Allen wrote the following message as a caption:

“18 months clean and sober today. Would recommend!”

As fans might remember, in early January, the singer announced that she had decided to change her habits and “cultivate a healthier relationship with her phone.” At that time, she wrote:

“My brain suffers, my relationships suffer, my work or creative endeavors all suffer as a result. I’ve ditched the drugs, booze, and fags, so hopefully this year cultivate a new relationship with my phone. Wish me luck.”

As for back in December, the ‘Littlest Things‘ singer also declared another improvement regarding herself. By releasing a series of photos of herself that sees her smoking at different times and locations, Allen announced that she had given up smoking a month ago. In her own words:

“Here’s 10 pictures of me smoking, you’ll be seeing less of these as I gave up smoking 1 month ago today !!!!”

It seems that Allen decided to improve her lifestyle as of the date of 2019; in one of her interviews dated 2019, Allen stated that her upcoming fifth album features the marks of her past addictions, and now she has been highly far away from them.

“This album I’ve been doing, I’ve been writing for just over a year, but I feel like I’ve moved on mentally so far from that time.”
