One of the world’s most recognized racing drivers, Lewis Hamilton is still the most advocated activist when it comes to ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement.
On February 25, Lewis, the first black racer who drive with McLaren, posted a photo of himself in a t-shirt bearing the “BLACK IS VIBE” slogan, and holding a sign “Black Lives Matter’ written on, and asked what is next to make the United States more equal as recalling the protests in proud.
The well-known racer, who takes the knee ahead of his races to show his support for the movement, wrote:
“Last year some of us took a knee in support of equality which I am proud of. My question is, what’s next? The inequities within our sport and within the world persist. Change is still needed.”
Stating that as a American citizens must keep pushing to hold themselves accountable, Hamilton continued his message in a sort of criticism:
“We have to keep striving for equality for all, in order to continue to see true and lasting change in our world.”
Then he promised that he will continue to fight for change in everything he does, as long as he has air in his lungs.
“I will work to create pathways and opportunities for kids of colour, within sciences, engineering and creative disciplines.”
