Lenny Kravitz Says The Songs On ‘Mama Said’ Always Have A Special Place On His Heart, On Its 30th Release Anniversary

Lenny Kravitz‘s second studio album, ‘Mama Said‘ turned 30 as of the date of April 1, 2021; of course, the well-known musician did not skip marking the milestone.

To mark the day, the Grammy Award-winning artist, who has one of the most recognized voices in his own style, took to his verified Instagram account and released the cover art of the album, which was first released on April 2 1991 through Virgin Records. Alongside the black & cover photo, which truly reflect Kravitz’s unique fashion taste, and added an adorable message to remember the early years of his music career.

A day before the 30th release anniversary of ‘Mama Said,’ Kravitz released the following message as a caption:

“Tomorrow is the 30th anniversary of my second studio album, Mama Said. I’ve always written music that reflects where I am in life during that specific moment, and Mama Said was written and recorded during a major turning point – so I went deep.”

The rock musician continued his message by expressing that the songs on the album will always singular for him:

“These songs will always have a special place in my heart. #MamaSaid30″

As fans may remember, the second studio album of the ‘Hunger Games‘ star garnered high praises from music critics and fans. The album featuring Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, and Sean Lennon, the son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, reached no. 8 on United Kingdom Albums Chart and it was released one more time with the double-disc version in 2012.
