Nine-time Billboard Music Award-winning singer & actor Justin Timberlake showed his support for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris via an Instagram post that includes a photo of himself, that was taken almost twenty years ago.
Shortly after his wife, actor Jessica Biel, whom with he shares two babies, had endorsed Kamala Harris through Instagram, Timberlake also endorsed the Democratic candidates for the upcoming presidential election in the US.
The ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds’ hitmaker posted the aforementioned old photo, that he appears in the pool, with his iconic curly & blonde hair. Timberlake added a caption that reads:
“I think I was 19 here. That would have been 2000… when I spent a lot more time in the gym 😂 It was also around the first time I voted. I just remember thinking voting was cool, and it all felt very… adult — I don’t think I really understood the weight of it all or took the time to learn what my choices in candidates really meant.”⠀
Then the singer stated that now he knew how powerful each of American citizens’ voices can be. With this Instagram post, the 49-year-old star both urged his fans and followers to vote and led those who are voting for the first time. He wrote that the country really needs young minds:
“If you’re voting for the first time, or you’re still not sure if you even wanna vote — because you think your voice won’t make an impact, or you don’t trust the process, or it all seems just like a headache… all I can say is, we really need you.”
Later Timberlake told of the current situation of the country; he highlighted the importance of voting. According to the singer, the upcoming election is directly about the future of the children living in the US.
“This is about our children growing up in a world where racism is condemned, not tolerated. It’s about ensuring that women are empowered everywhere decisions are being made. We have to vote so we don’t go backwards.”⠀
Then, he concluded his words by saying that he would be voting for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris; and voting early and by mail this year.
