John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, who had announced on October 1 through Instagram that they lost their baby no.3 because of pregnancy complications and excessive bleeding, talked about their grief for the first time, on ‘Good Morning America.’ Even though the couple appeared as guests on the show to discuss their new charity project for RMHC Global, they gave the first interview together regarding the devastating issue during their appearance.
During the interview, regarding the pregnancy loss, John Legend said that he did not know that they could experience this kind of grief; however they did, and it really meant to him and so many people who faced losing their kids. Then the singer, who described that sad event as a powerful experience, expressed his gratefulness for Teigen’s courage.
As known, the ‘Lip Sync Battle‘ host and cookbook author had shared a set of devastating photos of herself with husband and their son in the hospital while announcing the news, and she received so much negative feedback for sharing too personal things on social media. However, Legend, expressed his support for Teigen regarding the issue, during the interview.
Teigen also defended her action by saying that she received thousands of letters written to her to give solace to her after the post. The mother of two, who said that she gives herself “permission to have complete and utter grief,” continued:
“Obviously it’s so painful to go through something like this as a woman, something that was inside your body that you were nurturing. But obviously, there’s a father involved, and the support for the both of us has just been so beautiful. So incredible.”
Legend added that people’s love and concern for the couple has been heartening and lifting for them. At the end of the interview, Teigen admitted:
“The world is inherently good. I believe people are inherently good, and it’s shown itself. As hard as it was, it is beautiful to see this side of it.”
