Latin star Jennifer Lopez announced her endorsement of Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential nominee for the 2020 election, in a new video released Friday.

Lopez and her fiance Alex Rodriguez attended a video chat remotely with Biden and his wife Jill Biden and urged Latinos in the United States to vote in the upcoming election.

During the conversation, the 51-year-old star stated:

“For me, it’s unifying the nation again. Getting rid of this hate, thinking about my kids walking around in a world where you know it’s OK to be racist or prejudiced because our administration says it’s OK. That to me is really sad because it’s not the country I grew up in.”

Then Lopez highlighted the importance of Latinos voices, and continued:

“My kind of hope and quest for the Latino community is that they start understanding their power. They understand what they mean to this country, that their vote counts.”

Then Biden replied to her by saying that he hoped Latinos realized their power.

“If I have the honor of being the next first lady, Latina women will have a seat at the table.”

Lopez uploaded the video of the online chat on her verified Instagram account with the following note:

“To my Latinos, we’re more powerful together… Join me in getting loud. Your voice is your vote. What is your voting plan? @joebiden @drbiden @arod”

Lopez’s endorsement came after the support messages of a good number of Latino celebrities including Luis Fonsi, Eva Longoria, Ricky Martin, Bad Bunny, and Alejandro Fernandez.
