Shawn Johnson East, the former artistic gymnast, celebrated the 5th anniversary of their marriage with her husband Andrew East through an adorable message she shared on her verified Instagram account.
The 29-year-old gold medalist released a black and white photo of two from their wedding ceremony and admitted that marriage is a little bit hard to handle while saying that she is happy to with her hubby.
Alongside the TBT photo, the couple is seen feeding each other wedding cake, the floor exercise silver medalist added the following message as a caption:
“5 years ago I got to tell my best friend in the whole entire world ‘I do.’ What I’ve learned since then is that marriage is amazing. If only I could have told myself back on our wedding day… that what I felt then couldn’t even compare to what was to come.”
Johnson East then touched on the hardships of living the life as “one,” and continued as follows:
“It’s hard and rocky but because of that, it’s more rewarding than I ever dreamed. @andrewdeast you are my everything. You never cease to amaze me. Thank you for fighting with me, laughing with me, and loving me through the years. Cheers baby…. to the next 95.”
Meanwhile, well-known American football long snapper Andrew East took to his verified Instagram account and uploaded a video including the cherished moments he shared with her wifey throughout the years. He added the following note:
“Every April 16 for the past 6 years. From the year we got engaged to now. Happy anniversary”
As fans already know, Johnson and East were engaged on July 24, 2015, during a Chicago Cubs game, and 2 years after, they announced they had married on April 16, 2016.
