Model and the media personality Emily Ratajkowski announced her upcoming book of essays titled ‘My Body’ through social media.
Ratajkowski, who grabbed international attention through her starring in the ‘Blurred Lines’ music video, shared the news with her 27 million followers by posting a photo of the book’s draft whose title reading “MY BODY An Essay Collection by Emily Ratajkowski.”
The 29-year-old model captioned the photo with the following note:
“Thrilled and humbled to announce my book of essays entitled “My Body” will be published by Metropolitan Books @macmillanusa @henryholtbooks. It’s surreal to be working with an imprint that has published so many writers I admire (Noam Chomsky! Edward Snowden!) Now it’s time to get to work!”
Regarding the essay collection, Metropolitan editor Sara Bershtel said in a statement:
“Emily Ratajkowski reveals herself to be devastatingly honest, nuanced, and strong. I’m not surprised that she thinks of herself first as a writer. I also admire how outspoken she is, how political, and how unafraid, what force she’ll be!”
According to Metropolitan Books, the book will focus on “what it means to be a woman and a commodity,” and gender issues. ‘My Body’ will be published in 2022 by Metropolitan Books.
